The Children’s Museum of Indianapolis

Do you love science? Think dinosaurs are amazing? How about wanting to understand more about the weather?  The Children’s museum of Indianapolis covers all that!! 

The museum has so much to offer! You can learn just about ANYTHING you can imagine from this amazing place.

Indy 500

Indianapolis is home to the great race called the Indy 500! It is the longest running automobile race in history and it is hosted yearly at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway. The race is 500 miles long!! The winner is celebrated in Victory Lane with a traditional bottle of milk and the  singing of “Back Home Again in Indiana”

Conner Prairie


Conner Prairie is a place where you can learn all about early Indiana history.  See how colonial peoples lived and cultivated the area and learn about all the Native American tribes living in the area at the time as well.

Monument Circle

Monument Circle sits in the heart of Indianapolis.  Central to everything that goes on in the city, tourists and locals alike use it as a meeting spot, a point of interest and a place to watch the world go by.

The circle is built around the towering Soldiers’ and Sailors’ Monument. Standing at 284 ft tall, it was built in 1888 and commemorates the Hoosiers of the American Civil War.

Holcomb Observatory and Planetarium
Do you love the stars?  Well Indy is also home to the Holcomb Observatory & Planetarium! The observatory, one of the largest public observatories in the world, houses a 38-inch Cassegrain reflector in addition to a number of smaller telescopes, along with a fully immersive digital planetarium. It is among the ten largest telescopes East of the Mississippi River.  You can learn more about the telescope they use, see what our current night sky looks like, learn about light pollution, and study star charts just like explorers before you did right here.

 

Indianapolis Zoo

The Indianapolis Zoo is a triple threat - it’s the only zoo in the country to be accredited as a zoo, aquarium, and botanical garden!
