VOLCANO BAY

  • Know the Backstory of the Waturi: Voyagers, from the far corners of Polynesia, journeyed from island-to-island in the Pacific, along the way embracing the customs, music and arts of the people they encountered. They discovered the mythic tropical oasis that is Volcanu Bay and created their own unique settlement among the breathtaking remains of a forgotten ancient civilization surrounding Krakatu Volcani – calling themselves the Waturi. When you come to Volcano Bay, you are welcomed as one of the Waturi family. The islanders have never forgotten the kidness and generosity their ancestors encountered in their journeys across the Pacific, and it is that same spirit of frienship that they extend to every visitor to their shores. As a visitor, you are encouraged to take part in the island way of life and discover your inner Waturi. Throughout Volcano Bay, you’ll discover a vibrant blend of Polynesian cultures and architecture that draws on infliences from all over the South Pacific.

  • Make sure you hook your credit card to the Universal App so you can use TapuTapuPay

  • You have three options for towels: Bring your own, Borrow from the hotel (Make sure to bring back to avoid a $5 per towel fee), or rent inside the park at one of three Concierge Huts (can be exchanged throughout the day for dry towels).

  • Get to the park early! Because it’s newer, it’s still very popular and will sometimes reach capacity as the day goes on!

  • Book your cabana or premium seating in advance (recommend at least 2 weeks in advance)! We REALLY love the cabanas and highly recommend!

  • Wear flip flops! The pavement gets hot. There are racks in front of each ride where you can store your shoes and coverup in a rope hammock shelf until you are done

  • When you’re down by the beach, tap the big clam shell with your tapu-tapu to see what happens!

  • Bring the bare minimum to the parks! The lockers are not free!

  • Make sure your Tapu Tapu is hooked on booth hooks. If you lose your TapuTapu, go to one of the concierge desks (there is one on each side of the main beach and one in the back of the park). You will need to show them your tickets to get a new TapuTapu
